The Roswell Lowdown
The Roswell Lowdown, the seventh book in the Fastball Series, is an entertaining, fast-paced CIA espionage thriller set in Roswell, New Mexico, Washington D.C., and North Korea. Shocked and dismayed by North Korea’s continued provocative missile tests, Washington leaders debate a response. A range of options, including high-level negotiations, military action, and covert operations, is considered.
Celebrated deal-maker Bernie Sorkin proposes a joint venture between National Airlines and a space-travel company, funded by unknown investors and headquartered in Roswell, to provide orbital commercial flights under National’s brand. Playing on the vanity of an influential National board member, Sorkin secures the deal.
Surprisingly, Sorkin demands that National CFO Lonny Jones be named president of the joint venture. Given no choice by National’s CEO, Jones reluctantly relocates to Roswell, is quickly drawn into international intrigue, and must deal his way out to stay alive.
